Key motivational tactics

Staying motivated in the modern society can be such a struggle due to distracting influence of our minds and surroundings.  We often get into situations where we doubt not only ourselves but also others amid negative thoughts and worries about the future.  Keeping those motivation killers at bay and optimizing your focus to reach to an aspirational level separates us from the the rest of the crowd.

There are no simple solutions to keep your motivations intact.  First and foremost, it is imperative to believe that you can succeed in your tasks.  If you do not believe your capability at heart, what is the main point of trying in the first place?  Secondly, learn to interpret how your thoughts influence your emotions.  You may not control external facts that disappoint a situation, but you can control your emotions in responding to them.  In the end, it is you who make a decision on how you want to bring yourself to the positive light.  Study ways to get yourself out of the pitfalls before they start affect your better judgment.

With confidence in yourself and focus on the positive factors, direction comes into play as well.  Without a clear direction, how is it possible to reach the destination in a satisfactory way?  It is important for you to know your limits and what you want to achieve on the reasonable scale.  In other words, do not commit a mental suicide by setting unrealistic expectations to yourself.

Another ingredient for maintaining motivations is " the last minute" burning oil to get things done.  Surprisingly, most people focus and perform the best right before a deadline, which you can use take advantage of.  Given that, creating more mini goals rather than bold milestones generates more "better last minute" performance that subsequently produces good end results.  It is also a good idea to mix up those goals aong the way as repetitive tasks can be a major motivation killer.  New and challenging works are fun to solve.

When managing a team, trust and respect team players besides the elements mentioned above.  Create an environment of camaraderie.  A happy team player will do almost anything not to let his team down and strive harder to achieve a common goal.  Team tasks are never achieved for free, it takes a lot of dedication and efforts which should go unnoticed.  Tapping on your team member’s shoulder at the right time can elevate his motivation.

Remember, you cant not expect miracles from others unless you have maximized motivation in yourself. If you are not performing at your best, how can you expect others to do the same?  Give your team the opportunity to excel and those miracles will happen!
